Every Generation

Every Generation is a website aiming to be an online community resource for the black community to facilitate the personal development and empowerment of young people and to bridge the gap with the older generation through history, family genealogy and heritage. The site is also intended as a resource to schools, statutory services and voluntary sector, mentoring and youth organisations who are supporting and engaging with black clients.

The site has an easy to use, attractive magazine style format with a wide variety of links and articles which include pieces on history, promotions for events such as Black History Month and interviews with a wide range of prominent people and role models from the black community.

There are some interesting and useful information on tracing family trees and genealogy, including case studies and examples alongside a wide variety of other items of interest such as folk stories, images of historical and social interest, festival information and more.

The site states that it "recognises the positive contribution that history and heritage can play in the motivation and personal development of young people as a source of self mentoring and coaching. Every Generation is about passing knowledge, values and perspectives to create a better future for young people ultimately in all communities."
