Francesca Atkinson interviews the voice of Bart Simpson, Nancy Cartwright, in this Channel 6 film, a short edition of The Book Show.

Interviewed on stage at Edinburgh’s International Conference Centre, where we see her signing copies of her latest book ‘My Life as a 10-year Old Boy”, Cartwright is asked when she first knew that The Simpsons was going to be really big. She recalls that, in the middle of the first season, there was quite a buzz around Hollywood and in the national press and she realised they had done something special and different. She describes Bart as an international icon, a cult hero, and says it is a great feeling to be associated with him. This video recording lasts 2 minutes and 26 seconds.
