Art in Scotland - Slater, Deller, Hiller

A video edition of Channel 6 Broadcasting’s ‘Art in Scotland’, featuring Joe Slater and Jeremy Deller talking to Robert Morgan about their video work and a brief view of Susan Hiller’s video presentation at the Fruitmarket gallery.

Joe Slater is seen exhibiting a film, which had degraded over time with the emulsion producing a display of brightly coloured random images, as part of a mixed media exhibition focussing on the properties of light.

Jeremy Deller’s exhibit The Pyramids of Mars is based on a series of unedited videos collected over a period of years, about social interaction, he says it’s a kind of artistic video diary.

Finally we see an extract of Susan Hiller’s presentation at the Fruitmarket, which is an unsettling series of sampled videos about childhood and young girls growing up. This video recording lasts 5 minutes and 18 seconds.
