Art in Scotland - Marcus McDermott

A short film in which video artist Marcus McDermott introduces two of his digital works.

Set against the background of the countryside around his home in the Sidlaw Hills, the artist tells us about his home and work before introducing his animated videos “What Time” and “The Space Between Friends”. He describes the first as being about releasing the potential in each other, which he believes is the way the world evolves, while the second is about connectedness.

The featured videos are high quality 3D digital animations. McDermott reveals he is entirely self-taught and feels that computers can now empower everyone to create on screen anything they can imagine. This video recording lasts 12 minutes and 20 seconds.
