Celtic Connection – The Ancient Rhythms (2 of 13)

This piece of music is the second in a collection of 13 audio tracks made as part of a community arts project which took place in the Borough of Ballymoney during the “Celtic Connection” Festival in 2000. The project brought participants of all ages together with practitioners from the worlds of dance, music, storytelling and the visual arts to produce a performance for the festival’s grand finale. The performance was intended to take the audience back to the time when the first visitors came to the island of Ireland, capturing rhythms from the nature and landscape of the time. The project involved primary, secondary and FE students as well as local and professional musicians and the resulting tracks are all available on The Showcase. For further information see http://www.rjarvis.freeserve.co.uk This audio recording lasts 4 minutes and 6 seconds.
