Catching The Light : Hidden Memories |
|
| A sixty second video, made as part of the ‘Catching the Light’ project; supported by Somerset Film and Video, with the aim of encouraging people to write, shoot and edit their own one-minute film. This short but concise documentary follows the history of the Lord Desborough, beginning with the discovery of a painting of a ship captained by the narrator’s grandfather. Further investigation uncovers letters containing orders, details of routes the ship took and it’s involvement in Allied landings in WW2. Written contact is made with someone who used to work on the ship, and it’s story ends with being broken up in Barrow-in Furness in 1955. Many of the other 1-minute films made as part of the ‘Catching The Light’ are also featured on The Showcase. |
