A video documentary looking at aspects of life in a modern church, focussing on the church-going community and the variety of services it provides for those in need in the wider community. The piece looks at the development and growth of the church through the congregation and the buildings in which they have been based. Amongst the services the church provides to the community is 'The Play Barn', a mother and toddler group usefully combining a café with a play area. The Alpha Course is run as a practical introduction to Christianity; with a brief interview with one woman who converted from Sikhism to Christianity as a result. Another initiative is the 'Soup Run' whereby food, drinks and blankets are distributed to people on the streets, and we see the group in action, taking food to homeless people and spending time talking with them. This video was made as part of an Open College Network certificate in Community Media, supported by CSV Media. This video program last for 15 minutes and 20 seconds.
