A short video introducing the Aberfeldy Trails produced for the local Tourist Information Centre.
Well photographed and skilfully edited, this is an effective travelogue packed with facts and figures about the heritage of the Aberfeldy area.
We are told that a visiting preacher 150 years ago, on first viewing this quarter of Highland Perthshire, praised it as a ‘fit vestibule for heaven’ and we are shown that Aberfeldy now clusters around General Wade’s Bridge, built in 1733 as the first bridge to span the Tay.
The unidentified voice-over continues to provide a local history lesson while we look at the attractive scenery and fine buildings of the area. Taking in the village of Fortingall and many more Highland communities, rivers, bridges, churches and castles, the video suggests that, with the inevitable inclusion of a distillery and highland cattle, the area will not disappoint the tourist looking for traditional Scotland. This video recording lasts 7 minutes and 34 seconds.
