The Prince and the Pirates |
|
| This entertaining audio play with Irish and Jamaican actors is described as “a tale of greed, desire and Guinness on the high seas”. With strong performances and sound effects, the piece tells the story of the pirate Bluebeard sailing the Caribbean in 1756 with a prince captured from the Gold Coast of Africa. The action includes the prince singing a song to cast a spell over the ship, and a supernatural storm blowing them from the Caribbean to the coast of Ireland. The lady pirate of Galway tricks Bluebeard out of a map showing the location of the Prince’s treasure in Africa, but will the treasure ever be found? The tale ends on a spooky note as the two men tell of how, every Hallows Eve, the ghostly pirates are said to return to continue their adventures! The play lasts for 17 minutes and 9 seconds. |
